Fútbol Folklore is a soccer blog created and run by me, Sebastian Oliveira, covering as much of the beautiful game as I can. Launched in December of 2022, the site hosts all media published under the Fútbol Folklore name, from written articles to photos and videos.

Soccer is my hyperfixation, and it has been for as long as I can remember. I played from before consciousness through the end of my grade school years, with intermittent experiences of coaching and refereeing mixed in. The rest of the time I was either watching it or talking about it, and over those years I’ve cultivated a foundation of knowledge where I feel comfortable providing analysis from the technical to the narrative. 

The blog started as a personal passion project, a way to create my own experience and sharpen my sports journalism skills on my own time while keeping myself involved in the game far past my playing prime. I hope to one day be able to do this or something similar as a career, and am working towards it. But this keeps me in touch with the world, and that’s good enough for now.
